| The species is known from the Adriatic Sea, Ionian Sea, Aegean Sea and Black Sea (d'Udekem d'Acoz, 1996). Of the two described forms of this species, only form A is rarely found in the Black Sea (d'Udekem d'Acoz, 1993). It tolerates a decrease in water salinity to 15 ‰ (Makarov, 2004). Recorded at Cape Tarkhankut (Makarov, 2004), in the Sevastopol Bay (Kobyakova, Dolgopolskaya, 1969), in Yalta and Sukhumi (Chernyavsky, 1884), and off the coast of Bulgaria and Romania (Băcescu, 1967). | ||||
