| It is found in the temperate waters of the North-East Atlantic from the North Sea coast to the south to the African coast, as well as in the seas of the Mediterranean basin and the Black Sea. It is found in the coastal zone up to 40 m among fouling on stones and rocks, in mussel druses, under stones and in the shell rock zone (Kobyakova, Dolgopolskaya, 1969). It is a very variable species with large differences in morphological characters, which led to errors in the identification of this species in the Black Sea basin. | ||||
