  Necallianassa truncata (Giard et Bonnier, 1890) Larvae development
Occurs along the entire northern coast of Europe to Germany, Denmark and Great Britain. In the seas of the Mediterranean basin and the Black Sea. Small species (up to 31mm), leads a secretive lifestyle. It occurs in the coastal zone to a depth of 30 m, on sandy and silty-sandy soils, sometimes in thickets of zostera. Digs holes 0.5-1 m deep (Kobyakova, Dolgopolskaya, 1969). The existence of this species in the Black Sea was first established by M.A. Dolgopolskaya based on materials from the Sevastopol Bay. Larvae at different stages of development and several adult specimens were captured (Dolgopolskaya, 1954). But these materials have not survived (Kobyakova, Dolgopolskaya, 1969).

Description: The rostrum is very short and triangular. The eye stalks touch on the inner sides and diverge in the upper third. Maxilliped III with wide merus and ishium; the propodus of maxilliped III is somewhat widened in comparison with the dactylus. On the large claw of the first pereiopod, the carpus is equal to the propodus; the pterygoid projection on the inner side of the great pincer's merus is pointed and serrated; endopodite of uropods oval, of the same length as telson; the telson is straight cut at the end. Length of females up to 31 mm, males up to 25 mm.
