Only one species in this genus (WoRMS, 2020) -
Dermaturus mandtii Brandt, 1850
Occurs in the northern Pacific. Off the American coast from the Pribylovskie Islands in the Bering Sea to Sitka in the Gulf of Alaska. On the Asian coast from Cape Olyutorsky in the Bering Sea and the eastern coast of Kamchatka in the Sea of Okhotsk to the Sea of Japan and the eastern part of the Japanese Islands. It occurs from the tidal zone to a depth of 72 m, on rocky soils, among the placers of stones and shell rock, among the rhizomes of algae and in dense accumulations of attached marine organisms (Slizkin, 2006).
