This species is widespread in the Indian Ocean and in the western Pacific Ocean (from the Red Sea to Fiji). Through the Suez Canal, it entered the eastern Mediterranean (Lesseps migrant) and spread along the shores of Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Israel and Lebanon. At present, this species is a valuable commercial object in Egypt, Israel and Turkey, as well as in many countries of the native basin (Khvorov et al., 2006). The color of life shrimp is gray-green. Males reach a length of 19 cm, females - 23 cm. Euryhaline species. Life expectancy is 25 - 26 months. The shrimp is found on sandy and silty-sandy ground at depths from 1 to 130 m. In 2005, in the area of the Lazarevskoe (region of Bolshoi Sochi), several individuals of green tiger shrimp were caught (Khvorov et al., 2006).
