The Northwest Pacific is native areal of crab H. sanguineus, where it occurs from Peter the Great Bay to Taiwan (McDermott, 1998). In September 1988, H. sanguineus was discovered first time on the Atlantic coast of the United States (New Jersey state) and since 1990 it population become a stable. (Williams, McDermott, 1990; McDermott, 1991). There ara found from Maine to North Carolina (Delaney et al, 2008). In 1999 it was discovered on the Atlantic coast of northern Europe (Breton et al, 2002; Obert et al, 2007; d’Udekem d’Acoz and Faasse, 2002; Faasse, 2004; d’Udekem d’Acoz, 2006; Kerckhof et al, 2007; Dauvin 2009; Dauvin et al, 2009). One adult male H. sanguineus was found in the north of the Adriatic Sea in 2003 (Schubart, 2003).This crab was discovered in the Black Sea on the coast of Romania in region of the Constants in August 2008 (Micu et al, 2010 B). Usually found in the littoral and sublittoral zones. Prefers rocks and pebbles, but can be found in any other places, including on soft bottom (McDermott, 1998).
