| This crab inhabits coastal beaches and shallow sea and estuarine waters in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean. Distributed in the southeast and south of Brazil from Rio de Janeiro to the south, in the states: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande del Sur, in the southeast of Uruguay, in the departments: Rocha, Maldonado, Canelones and Montevideo, and in eastern Argentina, in the provinces: Buenos Aires and Rio Negro, southward of the San Matias Bay between the latter and Chubut. | ||||
