Infraorder CARIDEA // Family Thoridae // Genus Lebbeus
  Lebbeus cf. polaris
Previously, it was believed that the polar lebbeus lives in all the Arctic seas washing the shores of Europe, Asia and America, from where it descends to Cape Cod, Kodiak Island, the southeastern coast of Sakhalin Island and the Kuril Islands. Usually occures at depths from 3 to 390 m, but in the Okhotsk and Bering Seas - up to 90 m (Slizkin, 2006). However, recent studies indicate that Lebbeus polaris is not found in the seas of the Far East. When identifying shrimps in the Far East, a morphologically similar species was taken for it, which, however, differs in the color of living individuals.
